The Association got the registration at the Ministry of Interior and of Ministry of Culture in July, 2004
Main sectors of intervention: zone, domains, actions
The purpose of the PCC is to deliver to the children a protected frame, where they can open up by developing themselves in
the widest safety. Children are supported by a trained team, competent and capable to foresee and to fulfil the needs of the children.
The Project of the Centre come within the scope of 2 main lines, as their statute foresees:
- To facilitate the development of the child personality, to give him / her the capacity to assume responsibility;
- To let children accede to socialization and so to let them integrate, harmoniously, into the social life;
Centre Activities are: scholastic support to the children more in need, educational leisure (draws, artistic expression, theatre, dance, scout, music), meetings on prevention and education with parents and teachers, discovery trips and excursions, workshops, debates with parents and social workers, aids to the hardship cases, such as the delivery of school bags, evenings to cut the fasting during the Ramadan, delivery of food, free medical care for certain children.
Human Resources of the Association :
10 animators (childcare workers), whose 5 are volunteers and 5 are getting allowances, plus the Centre's director
Main donors
The Centre has been set up by a grant from the Quebec Governmental Cooperation.
It has been supported by private donations and international organizations.
It has been well granted also by the French Consulate of Jerusalem.
Focus on the project with EJE:
Psychosocial support to the refugee children in West Bank
- Playing and Activities Centre for Children 6 – 12 years old: the Centre welcomes 180 children living in the Shu’fat Refugee Camp. They benefit from playing and educational activities and from psychosocial support. The Centre is open 6 days a week. The team is funded by the project is composed by 1 manager and 5 animators (childcare workers).
