“Go, Get,Grow” is a summer camp for hundreds of Palestinian children, organized by EJE and its French partner Magny Loisirs. It was put in place through two phases: theoretical and practical guidelines and training for Palestinian animators and leaders and the establishment of educational activities for refugee children coming from the EJE play and animation centers from all over the West Bank.
Aiming at being a genuine recreation camp, this project took place from 21 to 26 June 2009, with the presence of Mr. Stéphane Hessel, Ambassador of France for Human Rights (the opening day). It aims to develop personal, social and cultural development of refugee children and vocational training for Palestinian professionals working with children in Palestine.
Children in refugee camps in the West Bank were able to live exciting adventures, between projects, games and gatherings. Magic, Recycle Art, Chinese Shadows, music were introduced to the children owing to the intervention of French animators specializing in these techniques. EJE thereby continues his substantive work for personal, social and cultural development of refugee children and vocational training for professionals working with children in Palestine. No doubt this experience has been the privileged opportunity to share unique and unforgettable moments for children who aspire to grow up with a smile!
In total, participated:
- 4 EJE employees as directors of holiday vacation and 1 EJE employed as coordinator
- 8 leaders EJE and 2 volunteers
- 1 translator
- 88 children from the refugee camps Jalazone Der Amar Aqbat Jabr Al Arub and Nur Shams.
- 4 local staff for cooking and cleaning
- 5 trainers facilitators from French organization Magny Loisir.
