Originally from Nice, Claude Garrandès did not have a life like the others. Stricken with blindness at age 12, he is now Professor of Braille, a publisher of art books for the blind, also a lawyer, a doctor in psychology, a certified psychoanalyst, a professor of economics and a social and creative artist exhibitor . This last role was the object of his visit. It was an opportunity to offer a workshop on artistic sculpture in copper wire with blind children from the al-Shourouk school in Beit Jala.
A meeting to discuss “Art and resilience: Obstacles and benchmarks” was held Wednesday, October 21st at the Auditorium of the Bethlehem Peace Center where the conference was held chaired by C. Garrandès.
