Since 2008, EJE has decided to give its support to the activity centre at the refugee camp Aqbat Jabr. The centre accommodates approximately 50 children. The centre is open every afternoon, except in summer, when it opens only in the evening because of heat.
Aqbat Jabr is located close to Jericho, to the southwest. In this region, the temperature can reach 40 ° C and above during the summer, making any activity during the day impossible. Over 6400 refugees reside in the camp.
The activity centre of Aqbat Jabr is large and spacious. It has the advantage of having its own premises, which is rare enough to be mentioned here! An outdoor space for “big” outdoor games is also available. Routine activities at the centers’ supported by EJE are proposed.
A few years ago the centre developed a circus project. This project will be held again soon!
