Khan Younis Center

Copy of IMG_0027

The camp of Khan Younis is, as its name suggests, near the town of Khan Younis, formerly a major stopover for the old trade route to Egypt. The camp houses 68,000 refugees.

There is not an activity centre in Khan Younis but there is a mobile toy library with enough material for 70 children to play each day. The toy library is used most often in the center of UNRWA, but of course can change location as needed.
The mobile toy library was set up in 2002 by ERM (Refugee Children of the World) and was one of their first projects.  Since some of these staff now work for EJE it is a project close to our heart!
